The one thing the PADS don't do!
Hi everyone!
Very often at our Gigs, we do Dance Remixes of songs, which is often simply triggering Pad Drum Loops over the top of SMF's at various times (sometimes muting the existing SMF Drum track, sometimes not)
Anyway....
Why is it that you can't:
a) Start the PAD Drum loop, and THEN start an SMF?
and more importantly:
b) CONTINUE the Pad Drum loop when you start (and crossfade to) a 2nd SMF - even after pressing SHIFT/PLAY so as to start the 2nd SMF "in synch" as it were, with the first.
Is there ANY way to do this AT ALL???
Some Tip/Trick or Workaround?
If not, can you at LEAST do this with the PA2x???
In other words: Can you start and stop the Pad(s) independently of the SMF's starting and stopping - let them "Run Free".....?

Duh...there is. It's named "tempolock" and has a dedicated button, right next to "screenlock". Is that what you were looking for?

Well sweet!
If that keeps the pads going BETWEEN Sequences - I hope!
(Note, the Tempo was never the issue per se. I just needed the Pad loops THEMSELVES to continue on even after the 1st SMF sequence stopped playback)
I'll try it and report back.....

Sorry for the delay!
No, it doesn't keep the Drum Loops continuously playing between sequencers.
It locks the tempo between songs nicely (as, of course, it should) but when you start another sequencer playing and cross fade over to it, the loop stops, and you have to retrigger it - and no matter how fast you are, there is ALWAYS a noticeable delay.
I was hoping for a "DJ-like" dance mix where the pad drum loop I start continues on between sequences until I choose to stop it - really that would be a FANTASTIC feature, and I'm not sure why Korg (or anyone I know of) don't implement this......
