Hi Guys

I'm interested to know how many of you have tried to obtain voice support (I.E someone on the phone) in your country outside of normal office hours?

Sorry moderators if this is in the wrong area.

Not that many results so far..

Please feel free to discuss anything about this here, is it something you feel Korg should implement, if not, why not...

Have you tried to 'follow the sun' when working late and had a negative response from someone not in your country? How did this affect your work?

Do you think Korg has an adequate online presence so that you can easily find what you require without talking to someone?

All info is greatly appreciated.

Mike

I've usually been able to find what I need online, but I've not had any problems needing support (touch wood). I've only called Korg to order new power supplies, so I've done that in office hours. The only time I've had a problem was when the office was closed due to the heavy snow in the UK just after New Year, when I got a recorded message, so I phoned back a few days later.

I need to order another new power supply for an ER1 I've just bought, so I'll be on the phone as soon as I decide to stop sharing one supply between two electribes.

Hi,

Not specifically an out-of-hours issue, but I remember submitting an online request form from the UK Korg Support site about the possibilty of obtaining a volume pot and jog-dial for a Radias (to replace myself as the Radias is out of warranty) but never got a reply. =/

I've never needed Korg support for anything else.

Hi

Sorry to hear you didn't get a reply Timo. I'm not sure why.

If anyone needs spares in the UK please call 01908 857120 between 10am and 3pm weekdays.

Hi Mike,

I've only had to get in touch with Korg Canada twice in ten years (not bad going, eh?) The first time was for a replacement switch for a pedal on my EC5 and I received one within four days from Montreal, which is 2,000 miles away from here. They even threw in a couple of free spares.

The second time was just lately (you may have seen my grouches in the Pa1X forum) when my Pa1XPro was in for repair at a Korg authorised service centre for a problem with the outs on the back. Not so hot this time. It took three months, an eternity, for a part to arrive - eventually from the U.S. as Korg Canada didn't have the part. Given the reliability I've experienced over the years, I'm not expecting to have to go through that again any time soon. At least, I hope not.

So, to your question. It's a moot point, really. Even if I were able to reach someone right away, I can't see what good it would do unless I was in some major centre with roving technicians cruising around waiting for their cellphone to ring.:D

Say hi to blighty for me.

Cheers, Giner
