Edit multi-samples on PC

Post by diez »

As I understand, it's possible to edit multi-samples for Korg Triton Extreme on PC.
What kind of software should be used?

And from where to download existing multi-samples libraries? Can't believe that they don't exist for so popular workstation...

You can't edit the existing Multisounds found in ROM, but this is one program developed by Irish Acts that is made specifically for the Triton Extreme.

http://www.extranslator.com/index.php?page=exsc

It looks like it would suit all your needs. There is download link for the demo on the site.

Irish acts also has some multisamples and programs available for purchase. You might check out some of the other resident developers that use this forum - can't say for sure, but I believe basari studios and kid nepro may sell programs/combis with multisamples. You'll have to check, they may only develop for the M3 and OASYS. Beyond that, you can check out some of the other producers that sell AKAI sets, but they won't be tailored for Korg Workstations.

>> specifically for the Triton Extreme.
I doubt that specifically, only the same name "Extreme"

Well.. I haven't found korg multisample format among destination formats in this application.

Could you please tell me which destination format should be defined? All formats are listed by the link you have provided.

A popular multisample editing program compatible with KORG format samples (KSF, and KMP) is AWave studio.

Also, you can download plenty of samples, programs, and combinations right here at korgforums:
http://www.korgforums.com/?show=1

You should be able to load any PCG and samples for any triton, and you should be able to load samples that are for the M3 too, provided that aren't too big.

eh ... you're right, i didn't read through it thoroughly... it's a shame Korg doesn't have their own program compatible with KSC format.

I've tried Chicken Systems Translator, but it's pity, all multi-samples that I have (NKI) have too big size. ~100-200MB.

And as you know maximum for TEX is 96MB (actually I have 16MB)

How to find out what it quality (bit-rate) of samples and how to make it lower?

>> AWave studio
Thank you, I will try it!
