In a stunning move mere days after releasing the Monotron, Korg ships a virtual Monotron with 12 voice polyphony, built-in sequencer, Kaosspad feature that is greatly enhanced over the ribbon controller. Also new is a Dual LCD display, a virtual keyboard, and the ability to save and recall patches to memory, as well as to save and load songs. Unlike the Monotron, the new software can record and save modulations and notes, including the ability to dynamically change patches with virtual patch cords, including FM modulation. Also new are 3 kinds of effects, delay/reverb, phase/flange, and chorus, one fx applied at a time to any combination of 2 sets of 6 tracks.

The virtual Monotron is available for a retail price of $29.99 everywhere.

The name of the product is the Korg DS-10 Plus.

Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhh I was thinking the same thing.

But really I think some people want to do this stuff with "physical" knobs, in stead of pen driven ones. I can see the popularity of the monotron. If I had the extra cabbage, I'd buy one.

Having the DS-10 plus, I think the Monotron is a complete yawn.

I can make music and songs with the DS-10. I much prefer the touch screen keyboard and kaosspad over a ribbon.

The DS-10 plus is like having 24 oscillators, 12 filters, 12 LFOs, 4 modulation sequencers (4 kaosspads with X-Y recorded value changes), and 12 modulation matrices (patch panels).
