I would like to buy Kaossilator Pro but I have no idea if it will work as I want. So sorry for wasting your time. I would appreciate it if you could reply to my question.

Can I use the kaossilator Pro with an external sound from another synthesizer but still be able to play in a certain key and scale?

You can use key and scale when using the KOPro as an external MIDI Note controller, but then as k0va5 says the audio looping functions are disabled because you have to be in External Control Mode. So you can't loop and control something at the same time, but you can control something and keep in the same scale and key.

I don't care about the looping. I just want to play with kaossilator in a certain scale and key using an external sound form my korg R3 and then record it to ableton.
