Ok I bought the kp3 yesterday and have installed the driver and the editor. My usb is connected and can pull up the editor, I can load a wav file from my computer, but how do I get that wav file onto a bank on the kp3 itself. I am not sure and have read the manual, but a dummy like is blinded by all the functions of the editor and am looking to just do the basics for now, such as loading a audio file as mentioned above and mangling the heck out of it then shooting back into my computer so I can use it in Sonar as the affected file on a track. Also how do I delete a saved sound on one of the 1-8 banks. I was jacking around with the presets and figured out how to save in my case a synth sound on the first bank ( 1 ) well that great and it does recall it, but can I delete it or what is the workaround. The owners manual is only exactly 27 pages and says nothing about deleting or over writing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
in the Editor you click on "Sample Librarian".
Here you can select BANK A - BANK D.
On each Bank-Page there are the buttons Import, Export, Receive, Transmit.
Click Import to load a wav-file from your computer and then click Transmit. Then the files is transmitted to the KPad3 - if your midi-connection works right!
Hope this helps!

Ok I will do as you have mentioned, but all I have is the usb cable hooked to the kp3 then to the computer. I know midi is for connecting audio interfaces and linking other hardware to each other. I have an Axiom 25 midi, but it is not being used in conjunction with the kp3. So I will give that a shot and see what happens. Thank you

Hi defkon1,
did you install the Midi-Driver
PC:Driver:Korg_USB_MIDI_1.1.2.zip
MAC:Driver:KORG_USB-MIDI_Driver_1.0.9.dmg
from
http://www.korg.com/SupportResults.aspx?productid=269
(on the "Downloads"-Tab)
?
If the driver is installed your KP3 is installed in your system as a standard midi-in and midi-out device! In the KP3-Editor in the "Preferences"-Menu you must select the KP3-midi-in-device and KP3-midi-out-device.
Then the KP3-Editor can receive and transmit data from and to the KP3!
regards,

The USB connection is for MIDI. It provides a virtual MIDI port which is faster than a traditional 5-pin connection. It is essentially a built in MIDI interface specifically for the KP3.
MIDI is a protocol which allows you to control things - change parameters, trigger notes, etc. It does not carry any audio, just performance and parameter data.
I say it doesn't carry any audio - it won't for example let you hear the KP3 or in any other way won't let you get sounds from a synth into the computer. What you can do though is transfer samples over it with certain devices, like the KP3 with the sample dump in the editor as described by roxxx303.

The owners' manual does leave more than a bit to be desired in terms of detail, but your solution here is fairly simple: Just save some other setting to the slot you'd like to overwrite. (Make sure you save your global settings as well before turning off the KP3 if you want this change to be permanent.)
OH I SEEEEEE !!!!!

Ok I was thinking in terms of typical midi like the 5 prong thing. Yes I did install both of the drivers midi and editor, so I think I am half way there. So my next question is, when I load a wav file into the kp3 with all the midi settings where they are supposed to be, as I am playing the wav file in the editor will I be able to hear the effects real time as I am doing them on the touch pad. All I have set up so far as speakers is an Logitech surround system that is connected to my computer. And how does the kp3 record or what mode should I be so as I am using the effects so when I export it back into my computer as the affected loop ? And thank you all so far for replying to my questions, I know there is a lot, but the manual is really not the greatest with these specific things. THANKS d.

Yeah I am glad this is not one of those theory classes on midi or music notation, cause I would be lost, so I will make those adjustments and see what happens. Thanks d
