Kpro + Kp3 : Stay in sync, still not sure!

I know this has been beaten to death but I cant find a clear answer so far, in any thread.

I tried a Kpro with a Kp3 and if I played a beat on both (or recorded a beat from the Kpro to the kp3) they stayed in sync for a few minutes, but over time they slowly go out of sync.

What I want to do is to be playing the Kpro, and record bits off to the Kp3 to free up the loop banks on the Kpro for more editing, while constantly playing both machines. From my tests it seems like this will not work

I have read a ton of threads on this issue and there seem to be a lot of different answers and dead ends.

- USB sync?
- a midi cable between the two machines?
- a different way of loop trigger via 2.0 upgrade of the kp3?

No thread seemed to have a definitive answer...

Has anyone out there managed to play a beat on both machines and keep them in sync for 10-20 mins, without restarting the machines?

So they stay in sync better if you don't actually like, sync them?

Same goes for two kPros, just with rca cables, they stay in sync forever..
I wanna love the kp3, but it won't play nice with any of it's friends, so he must sit alone in the store window, imo.

Nobody out there has a kpro and kp3 working together (beats stay in sync for 10-20 mins) nicely?

:-k

well rca has nothing to do with sync, so what's actually keeping your k pros/ kp2s and kp3s in sync?

I dont know about the other guy, but 2 kpros stay in sync for a long time before they start to drift apart, without any midi cables., which i suppose isn't too surprising.
If I leave them on over night, they will be out of sync by a fair bit by morning though... however during a 2-4 hour session of use, they stay synced very well.

If anyone was wondering, a kpro and a microSampler connected via midi sync, works just fine... as it should.

I decided to go the ESX route instead, $400ish is too much to spend on somthing I'll have trouble syncing with.
