should I buy frozen PA800?

Post by paulmpianist »

I have a piano (piano, keyboard, ) recital tomorrow right near where I see a guy has a frozen PA800 for sale that he says won't load the operating system. Maybe he just doesn't know how, so I might just be helping him to get it going.
I bought a PA500, but I like the PA80 I have better for the sound. I like the file managment of the PA500 better and the PA80 has been acting funny since I've been using it out twice a week for the last five years or so and I ran over it once and broke some keys and smashed the floppy. ( don't need THOSE keys anyway and i replaced the floppy)
I think I'll be playing that PA80 even if its billowing smoke. Yeah the speakers cut out sometimes when I have the inputs maxed and the volume at full throttle, but it works.

Back to the the PA800... ??? I like the 22 watts per side (great monitors even though I put the signals through an amp and outboard speakers) I rather have the input gains. I usually run my mic through the PA80 and its no use on the PA500. is the PA800 worth the gamble at 1700? any body bring one back from the dead yet?

thanks paul

my still favorite newish song...
