I think that Korg could be in for some serious competition in the future. All the functionality of the KO-PRO and the K3 could be replicated in software with additional advantage that the iPad has multi touch. Not just that, additional voices could be bolted on and existing voices tweaked.
Anyone care to comment?
iPad - Slate - Will they make the KO-PRO obsolete?

well the slate looks like it may be more geared towards this sort of thing, but my guess is that the layer that HP puts on top of win7 will be almost unusable.
personally i am not at all impressed with the ipad *as a music maker* (it's a fine device, let's not have a flame war about it!). there are too many workaround issues and not enough connectivity.

right, but to get a high quality output off of the f#cker you still need to buy an audio interface.
frankly i see a huge lack of innovation in the music production industry as a whole right now. korg releases electribe ipad clone, propellerheads releases ipad version of rebirth, korg releases kpro which is completely recycled from the kp3, dsi releases new mopho with a keyboard, etc etc. namm was a total flop this year in my eyes.
my hope is that companies like korg and propellerheads are merely using the ipad to make a quick buck that they can put into developing real products. i'm sure times are hurting and that one of the first things people stop buying in a recession is music gear (i know that's the first thing i stopped buying).
