Sweet, I like the idea of the X/Y pad having inertia!

I really hope these companies like Akia and Korg are smart enough to know to make these software packages for Android and PC.
I'm not going to spend $500 on a stripped down touch screen computer that has waaaaaaay less then 100gig hard drive when i can wait 2 more months on the HP "Slate" that is a FULL computer thats in a iPad like body. Think about it; Ablton live run just like what you see here on a touchscreen computer thats 100 times more powerful than this iPad. And the "Slate" will only be $600! Yeah I'm going to wait it out, save my money.
Korg, if you're paying attention...Droid and PC equals more MONEY!!!!!

Yep, that is wise! Only problem here is software - I'm not yet sure that you will be able to control ableton on small windows based touchscreen that easily as you control apple ipad programs from iPad screen, but we will see. However, if some manufacturer made tablet PC with FireWire support that would be absolutely excellent.

I don't qute understand the hype about 'tablet PCs'. Well I do - they're great. But a lot of articles and reports are calling the iPad the 'first tablet to hit the market'. That is completely untrue and just shows ignorance or a lack of research.
I remember being in Year 10 at school (about 6 years ago) and our IT teacher taking the register in Excel on a 15" tablet PC. In the past they were prohibitively expensive - being around £1500 or more, but have been slowly coming down in price since.
I appreciate the iPad for what it is - a multitouch netbook. Nothing more. Its a living room PC. Sure you can put all these apps on it, and its apple, which means people will have expectations about it, but it is nowhere near being a full computer.
You can get a full touch screen tablet PC for under £1000 now I believe, and Windows7 introduced native touch and multi-touch support, so we'll be seeing more of that kind of stuff in the very near future - the only real advantage that the iPad has over most other tablet devices.
