KP 3 or Kpro?

I am pretty unsure about which of these 2 babies I should buy.
The main reason why I want the KAOSS is because I want to trigger my RADIAS via MIDI so I can play the Radias with the touchscreen.
There is absolutely NO PC, or Mac involved and I want to stay all hardware.
Of course I like the sampling of the KP3 but I heard the Kpro is more handy when it comes to triggering external devices...or is it the other way around? I am pretty confused. ><
Which of these 2 is better for controlling external hardware?

Also I would like to know if there are any additional soundbanks with new synth sounds for the KP3 and/or Kpro to download or will I get stuck at the presets...just in case my radias isn't at hand for some reason.

Would be great if anyone could help out!

The KOPro will allow you to trigger the RADIAS via MIDI and use the Key/Scale settings, which is important on a touchpad because it is difficult to hit specific notes.

The KP3 has no such functionality so as a MIDI controller you'd only have access to a completely chromatic slew of notes, a mess basically. And I think you'd need some software to convert the output to note messages rather than controller changes.
As such the synth sounds on the KP3 are kinda useless except for FX sounds, it is great as an effects processor though, and that is primarily what it is designed for.

There aren't any new 'sounds' or 'presets' to download for either because they are based on a fix bank of sounds/effects. You just select one and play it with pad, usually pitch in one direction and some form of modulation or sound or chord change in the other on the KOPro. On the KP3 you would select an effect type (preset) and then use the pad to set the two parameters assigned to it for that sound. There is really no other editing capability, so I guess you could say the KOPro is not strictly a 'synth'. It does have a wide variety of sounds already on board though.

Thx for the answer! So the KOpro it is! :)
Just one more question: Can I assign the KOpro's X and Y axis of the touchpad to individual MIDI CCs so I could (for example) tune oscillator 2 with movement on the x axis and change the filter cutoff on the y axis? Also are double assignements possible?

Dude you want both if you can swing it! you can use the KP3 to trigger and run all of your pad movements and automate the "pain-in-the-ass" gate arp feature the KOPro is. Really, you don't want one with out the other. The KoPro with a KP3, would give you every synth sound imaginable if you work it right. It is a very flexible system.
