Hi all.

Just finished writing this little program called Budget Buddy and I'm offering it as a free download. No strings attached at all, this is 100% free.

Basically you just input all the bills you get and fill in the details. Budget buddy will then break down the costs for you so you can instantly see how much a week something is costing and so on.

If you want to know how much you need to put away to pay for everything, then click on the Totals option and then select how often you would like to save, per day, week, month and so on.... The total you need to save is then displayed in the top left. If you have two incomes, it also allows you to split your payment methods between everything combined, just your wages, or a misc income.

And finally, if you want an actual print out, using the shift key and mouse, highlight all the bills you want to print out and total up. Now press Print and Budget Buddy will total up all the values and type everything up for you to print. Printing is in landscape in order to fit in all the values.

Kind Regards

This is great except that it is lacking one thing for me.... Maybe your next program should be called.... Wage Earning Buddy.
Oh well, being broke all the time helps my blues playing.
Thanks!

:) lol... A print your own money app sounds good to me :-)

Seriously though, you should try give Budget Buddy ago. Helps get to grips with what's coming in VS what's going out when you can do things like ask it how much a week you need to put away for everything.

A few of my friends have been using an early beta of this a few weeks and it's worked wonders for them.

Everyone should try it, even just to fool around with it to see how much things cost you per year and so on. It's a dead handy little app. Free too.

Regards
Sharp.

Hey Sharp,

I was curious about what software tools you used to create your app?

Hi Martian.

Everything was written in the SDK v9 of Brilliant Ultimate.
http://www.brilliantdatabase.com/main/sdk

It's a cross between ADB and VB, but it's very visual and super flexible to program with. Code is written with a script designer for basic stuff and then you just write raw code for advanced functions. It supports external DLL's and run native VB code. Once you get your head around it, it's very fast to program and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

I've been using the SDK for 5 years now, started on version 5 and since then I've kept upgrading as it and the language grows greatly. Its initially very expensive at $1299 for a licence (was $1500 when I first started out) but with that you get 1 years free updates. Outside that existing customers are always eligible for discounts on updates.

Anything specific you want to know, just shout.

Regards
Sharp.
