Correct use of drum track in sequencer mode?

Hi,

I'm a bit confused about using the drum track in sequencer mode. Is the following the correct way to insert a drum pattern into a song I'm writing?

Selecting my drum pattern, etc.
Then hitting "Record", "Start/Stop", the "Drum On/Off" button.
Recording a few measures of the drum beat, then stopping the recording. Using Ply/Loop to loop the drum track.

It seems silly to record the drum track. . . is there a way to just make the drum pattern start in the beginning of playback without recording it?

Thanks,
Lee

Thanks, but that didn't exactly answer my question. My question is, is there a way to set a drum track pattern to start playing when you playback a song in the sequencer? Or do you need to record a few measures of the drumtrack(either played or a loaded pattern) and then loop it with Ply/Loop?

You are right, question was not answered. I have posted a similar question today. How can I get the drumtrack to play along with me in SEQ recording mode the same way it does in PROG mode. Hopefully an answer is forthcoming.

not sure if this helps but if you are recording on any track and turn the drum track button on during that recording the midi data will be saved. this means if you turn wait for kbd trigger off and press the drum track button while recording, the drums will start playing in the same location that you had triggered it while recording. hope thats what you wanted
