Hi..I have had a PA500 for a couple months now, but I haven't used it too much until recently when my PA80 started pitchbending on its own.
Most of the styles I used in the PA80 are working fine in the PA500. What i would like to do is be able to rename the patches according to particular songs I use.
So would you open a style and then hit the record button to change the name and put it in a bank where you want it? Or is there some better means of renaming and moving styles?
ON my PA80 every time I changed some instruments in the style... say I changed a synth patch to strings and a organ patch to piano.... in order to make sure I had it the way I wanted it, I would save the current style AND the single touch setting to make sure.
any thoughts on this procedure with the PA500 are welcome. I already saved one style the way I wanted it and not STS,but I went back to it and it wasn't saved. I think I'm going to have to save it a couple ways again to make sure.
thanks a lot
paul

when you want to replace the style, want to cjange style-sounds and change STS, then you have this way, when you are want to work without the songbook. But its better and easier to work with the songbook. Changing something and saving is very quick.
Here the way without the songbook:
Open the style with the style-editor and save it back to the new place.
Close the style-editor.
Select your style and change all style-settings. After this make a "write current style performance" with the dipslay menue. Top/right.
So you have replaced an changed all what you want.
And now you can edit each "Single" Touch setting (STS) and save it with the save way. See above. Write "Single Touch Setting".
Make this 4 times for your 4 STS´s.
You can save this complete work, when your are working with the songbook. The songbook saves links to the style, so you must never search for the styles. You can give each SB-Entry a Number.
After this you can select this entry direct with a double-ckick on the Songbook-Button, tap the number inthe count-filed and press ok. Ready.
Thats the fastest way.
On the Songbook Edit 1 -Page you can check 2 points. Save Currentsource is for all style-settings and the pads.
STS is only for the STS

Danke Schoen !!!!! Thanks a lot. I just did a gig that I guy taped and I used a notebook with my songlist pencilled in... I will play around with the songbook feature on the PA500.
At first I didn't like that the PA500 didn't have pre-amps for the mic inputs. But since I use EMX powered mixer anyway... I just decided to put my mic into that and not use the Audio ins on the PA500.
This is a nice keyboard.
thanks again
sincerely,
paul
