I am having the same problem....some effects have stopped working while others do not seem to be affected. I have not yet figured out what is going on.

a reset for the KP3 would be awesome. It seems like my GRN and Pitch effects are turned down or off, adjusting the FX Send or FX Release does not seem to help. Happens in both Direct/Send modes, with both Line/Mic inputs.

I was hoping to find a factory reset option thinking this would be a good place to start

Have 2.0 installed

Just received the following:
The service manual does not describe a true "Reset". This is the closest thing. If this does not "fix" it, bring it in for an estimate.

KORG KP3 TEST MODE
2006.8.30 KORG PD3 T.Kanai
How to enter the simple TEST MODE
Pushing following switches, and turn the power ON.
CONNECTION[SEND]& [7] + [TAP/RANGE] : Skipping the Audio Loop Back Inspection and the USB check
CONNECTION[SEND]& [5] + [TAP/RANGE] : Skipping the MIDI Loop Back inspection and the USB check.

Other test modes for repairing
Pushing following switches, and turn the power ON.
CONNECTION[SEND]& [1] + [TAP/RANGE] : Skipping the Audio Measurements and PAD surface inspection
CONNECTION[SEND]& [2] + [TAP/RANGE] : Audio Measurement only
CONNECTION[SEND]& [3] + [TAP/RANGE] : PAD all surface inspection only
CONNECTION[SEND]& [4] + [TAP/RANGE] : Full inspection (Internal and External)
CONNECTION[SEND]& [6] + [TAP/RANGE] : External inspection
[TAP/RANGE] + [SAMPLING] : Display of System Version
[1] + [2] + [SAMPLING] : Load the Preset
[SAMPLING] + [SAMPLE BANK C] + [SAMPLE BANK D] : IPL Mode

Dead topic, but seeing as I'm still trying to get this exact problem fixed: Someone at my local music shop thinks it might be a faulty power supply screwing up the software. I sent it in for repair (a second time; first time it came back fixed but broke again several hours afterwards, I was using the same power supply). Will post if I figure out for certain if this is really the problem.
