Oasys 88 freezing while loading

My Korg OASYS 88 is freezing when it tries to load. It seems very sluggish, like it takes a minute just to get past the boot from cd screen, and ultimately freezes mid load, About a third of the way up. I tried holding in 0 and "enter", but it still freezes at the same point. I have initialized the memory, reinstalled the OS (1.3.3). which at piont had to be reauthorized. I contacted Korg, filled out the transfer of ownership paperwork, and finally got the ISO for the reathorization from korguser.net. But still it locks up in the same place while loading.

I have e-mailed Korg once again, to try and get this figured out, but have not recieved anything back from them as of yet.

running current OS (1.3.3), and 2gb ram

Any other ideas?

Thank you
-Jessie

Have you checked the RAM. It sounds like it could possibly be a bad stick so worth checking those, especially if you have just recently added a stick. Other things to check...

try booting up the O with nothing attached to it...make sure there is nothing in the CD-ROM when booting.

Also could possibly be the hard drive playing up. Or possibly a bad component somewhere but without further investigation its difficult to suggest anything definite. But I think the best thing would be to wait and see what Korg suggest.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Hi,

there was a similar threat, and Mike Conway advised to boot with the Disc 1#1 and that solved the problem.

There is the link

maybe it helps

I appreciate all the suggestions. I had previously read the other thread where Mr. Conway made a suggestion to another owner and have tried choosing both options on separate occasions.
I bought my OASYS used and it came preinstalled with 2 GB of ram, so I am not sure how long it has been installed, or how to go about telling if it is a bad stick of ram.
All the times I have tried starting it up nothing was plugged in,not even my sustain pedal.
I think it might be a better idea to call them instead of e-mailing and waiting for a response and so mu next day off I will call Thursday.
