kaossilator pro beginners question

Post by tjaila »

so i myself this kaossilator pro
every time i put it on, it's always on a 8 beat loop, so i manually set it to 16 beats

but everytime i put if off, next time the kaossilator forgot my 16beats setting

so i read in the manual :
TIP: You can set the KAOSSILATOR PRO to remember Scale and Key settings along with each Program you set to memory.

Hold down the SHIFT button and press UTILITY (PROGRAM MEMORY #6) button. Rotate the PROGRAM knob until it reads

“Prld.” Press the knob down, and than rotate again until “ALL.P” shows in the display. Press the WRITE button and you’re

all set!
but this doesnt seem to remember my 16beat loops...

is there a way to start up with 16 beats ?

thanks in advice

it will never remember the key and scale, but yes it can load the bank beat lengths when you load an entire "save all" file. when you turn on the krpo, it loads "all" file 0...so make sure your banks are all set to 16 beats (for bpm's above 108.5) on song all 0 and they will automatically load to 16 beats when song all 0 loads.

Mine used to save (and therefore load) the key and scale...

Just set the key, scale, program memory buttons, scale range and bank loop lengths as you want them to be when you turn it on and save ALL to filename "0". It will load that as default when you power up. Provided you have the SD card in when you turn it on anyway. :P

You have the 8 program-banks. For each bank you can save a sound-program with a own scale etc.
When you recall a program you have the stored scale.
On my machine this works even without a sd card when you did this:
manual Quote:
TIP: You can set the KAOSSILATOR PRO to remember Scale and Key settings along with each Program you set to memory.
Hold down the SHIFT button and press UTILITY (PROGRAM MEMORY #6) button. Rotate the PROGRAM knob until it reads
“Prld.” Press the knob down, and than rotate again until “ALL.P” shows in the display. Press the WRITE button and you’re all set!

right, but i feel like each program should store a key and scale for each song...it is great if lead one is E major blues, but if my song is also not in e major blues, it is useless...i feel like when i save all, it should save the bpm, key, scale, and banks for all everything...when i load a new song, it should load new things, not retain that info in the program bank (but rather, should be kept in the song info)

For each song you can save the key, scale, range into each program button and write them (one at a time)
then use either SAVE ALL (to include your samples) or just same the Programs (without the samples) into a new slot on your card.
When you load that ALL or Program bank, the key, scale, ranges should come with them (if “ALL.P” was previously selected as per roxxx303's instructions).
