For anyone who is interested the new Yamaha Tyros 4 manuals are here:-
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/ ... s4&div=emi
So far the external casing and buttons/sliders is identical to the Tyros 3 so it has only cost Yamaha a "Tyros 4" sticker.
I cannot see much more than:-
MP3 support
A few more SA2 sounds
A few more styles
This thing is USD$7,000 (without the flash memory option). That's RRP so I would hope there will be some discounts.
I see on the Yam forum that some T3 owners are staying up all night in anticipation of its release (17th Sept)
I'm obsessed with Korg but I ain't losing sleep for reasons like that - I lose enough sleep just playing them!!
Cheers
Pete

lol... please tell me that's not an official demo in an old folks home. What's next for the Tyros 5 next year, an offical demo in the morgue ?

Lol. In seriousness I guess that's who partly make up the arranger demographic. Those with a lot of spare time, that maybe played a little music in the past but never got around to taking it further, or that want to take up a new hobby, and that have a lotta cash to splash.
That said, some of the quality of sounds on the demos sound really quite good - I liked the orchestral/soundtrack stuff, sounded concert-like and nicely overdriven.

Sharp, is your objection to older poeple, to Yamaha, or both?

Hi Charlie.
Come on man, do you honestly think I'm laughing at the fact that I hate old people ?
Obviously my beef is with Yamaha ““““IF”””” this is indeed an old folks, which it does look like it and so to do others believe it is posting on SynthZone and a few other places. In that suituation the words “no shame at all” came to mind. We have enough respect for our elders to protect them from companies trying to shoot fish in a barrel like this.
So have no fear, I'm not a monster who hates old people...lol... I just hate greed.
Sharp.

Hi AnthonyB

Yep very nice but it seemed that the "vocal" sounds appeared in most of the 50 demo vids. Some of the scat stuff was nice - I might just find a number or two to apply it to but as for the rest of it .... lotamoney for old folk to lay out

Yamaha are very greedy - expensive keyboard expensive add-ons expensive extra styles and sounds - they could have offered a chip upgrade especially as the T4 case/buttons/sliders/screen etc are absolutely identical to the T3.
