Hey guys,
I use this:
Ableton Live ( 8 )
ESI U46 XL
KP3
Whenever I play a track I made in Ableton and turn on my KP3 input volume the peak LED turns red almost immediately. if I turn my input volume all the way down my sound sounds good but whenever I turn it up the led just turns RED and the sound transforms and sounds like some sort of metallike sound (not the music genre but the texture)
Does anyone know how to get rid of this?
Thanks.
- Eline

Perhaps you have a feedback loop?
IF the audio is passing from the computer/mixer, through to the KP3, which is then being fed back into the mixer, which has monitoring or whatever on that channel going back into the KP3 again....
Sometimes I've used it breifly for artistic effect on my mixer by routing my mini-KP back into itself with a delay effect on. you hear an 'echo' of the feedback. Not a healthy technique or habit really though...
Anyway, it kinda depends on more detailed information of your hardware and software setup, cables, routing, etc.
If it is feedback then disconnecting your KP3's outputs should stop the red peak light. Otherwise I'd have to agree with Mr. 36 - 'level' controls are there for a reason - not all devices expect or are designed for the same input and output voltage levels.
