EMX-1 accepting program changes from Ableton live

anyone know if this can be done, if so, how?

I am hoping I can have Ableton live make my EMX change patterns
is this possible?

I am fearful, however, even if it is possible, there's gonna be some midi delay/latency crap that will piss me off. Pattern changes on the EMX are really farking stupid when they don't hold long releases or chop off efx...

I am told the Elektron MD doesn't do this....

I don't know specifically bout the EMX or Live together, however I use my KARMA workstation's RPPR feature to send off program changes to my ES-1 or ER-1, in real time to select the drum patterns for different parts of the song.

I do have to make sure that the pattern change is sent before the bar, otherwise it will wait for the next bar to change pattern when running.

The functionality should be exactly the same as changing pattern yourself from the panel.

In the midi clip in Live you can set the bank and program-number.
This will change the EMX1 pattern.

Look in the Electribe user manual - Page 82 "Switching Patterns:

In Ableton Live look in the Properties of the midi-clip.
There you can put in a number for the bank and the program.

I do this and love it. My EMX-1 is essentially completely controlled by Ableton. One thing I have not figured out is how to access banks C-D. Setting up for Banks A-B to work is simple. Change your PCEN settings to allow the electribe to accept information from external sources. Inside Ableton it's all in the MIDI settings. If anyone knows how to access banks C-D I would love any help I can get.
