Different file types. Samples auto loading ?

Post by rbalaa »

Hello,

I'm still new to the M3. I'm experimenting with loading different files. Can someone please list file types and their purpose ?

KSC ?
PCG ?
SNG ?
KMP ?
... any other files that can be loaded ...

Also how can I achieve auto loading of samples when I boot my M3 ? Currently I have to reload the samples from my USB drive everytime I boot.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there

KSC = Korg Script. Contains a list of KMPs (multisamples)
PCG = Programs, combinations, drum kits, global settings, RADIAS formant motions, drum track patterns (dedicated M3 format)
SNG = Song, cue list (dedicated M3 format) - ie what you record on your sequencer
KMP = Korg Multisample Parameter file (Korg format)

Yes, you can autoload samples from your USB on start-up - Go to your media mode. The find the tab 'EX-USB-PCM'. You should make sure each item has its box selected for autoload (left-hand column).

Hope this helps!

The most options you can get is three (I think) - from Korg anyway.

You should re-boot your M3 without manually loading the samples. And then go to the page I mentioned (in media mode) and see if it says they have been loaded or unloaded. If it says loaded, then they already auto-load.

If they say unloaded, select the check box on left hand side for all unloaded items.

You have to remember that you must have the 256Mb expansion card if you want to autoload all Korg samples!
