IM trying to update O.S on both KPO and KP3, but cant seem to get it to work. I have looked at all topics and on korg website. still no go!

I downloaded the file, then extract all. then click kp3_0200_updater which bring the folders kp3 editor, manual, system, and readmefirst.

i click kp3updaterreadme and follow guide, which i been already following but heres the problem.

step 2. i extract all

step 3. Execute the KP3Updater.exe by double-clicking on it. The following window will appear. HERE no window appears!!

So i click kp3_0200_updater,then system,then kp3_0200_updater again, then updater,then kp3_updater.

NOw the korg kp3 updater is up and running,BUT Updater is greyed put and cant click.??????

Divers are updated, its seems to be the IPL cause Driver needs update for KP3 Version up mode

Cant seem to pop up widows during step 3-7, i get window korg kp3 updater window but nothing.

Can somebody post a video?

I using windows 7

I'm having the exact same problem

Just got my KP3. I've spent the last 3 hours trying to update to Ver2

I've updated to the latest drivers. I'm able to communicate with the newest editor and everything.

When I start the installer, the 'update' button is grayed out, and I can't update.

I've searched all over for any help, and can't find any.

Can anyone here offer any advise?

thanks.

Try uninstalling the Korg drivers and then attempting the firmware update. And then, if it works, reinstall the Korg drivers.

If that fails, still reinstall the Korg drivers, but reinstall them and then attempt the update.

You are both sure your KP3's need this update, yes?

I have tried that. When I launch the installer, there is a text line that should display the current OS version of my KP3, and it is blank. It's like the installer isn't making contact with the KP3.

Well that's it. It just won't update on a 64bit machine. Updated fine on my old XP box.

I'm sure this has all been sorted out but in the event that it hasn't, my guess is that you don't need the update. Check if you have Loop Mode 2 in the Utility menu or gate/release options on your sample pads. If you do, you have v2.

I just went through reinstalling the same version firmware on a Kaossilator Pro that was acting flakey and in the process ran into the same issue. In the KoPro updater, there's a "force update" option in the menu that you need to check to allow you to re-install the same version that's already on the machine. Otherwise the update button is ghosted. After doing this it worked fine and let me reinstall the same version of firmware but I got a warning about how "unnecessary upgrades can shorten the life of the flash ROM."
