Recording a drum track in seq

Post by rbalaa »

Hi All,

I'm messing around with the sequencer and wondering if I could get some advice.

I liked a drum track in combi mode, so I copied from combi but I'm not sure how to record it. When I press Drum Track ON, I can hear the beat but its not recording.

Any advise on how to manipulate a pre-done beat/drumtrack on the m3 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks! I missed it at first.

Now I copied over a drum track, but the first 8 tracks aren't behaving as I expected.

The drum track that I liked is on track 9, that's fine, I looped it ... Then I went to choose a bass on track 1, and every key I press plays a drum key also in the background. I noticed that from tracks 9-18 the channels corresond to one another, ex track 9 with channel 9 and so on ... I understand that I must be mixing channels on one track. Can you explain how to get rid of this, and point out the benefits ? Thanks again.

rbalaa... when you are in COMBI mode and have the COMBI you like selected, just Press Record button.... M3 will setup everything for you a blank SONG.

But, once you have recorded, you can not copy 'another' combi on the same song. Also, if you have to add more tracks, you will have to change the channels/tracks that were setup for the COMBI.

Each COMBI is set up differently, so there is no one method to get rid of the overlapping channels. You will have to look on the Track Parameter and Key/Velocity Zone pages to see what's going on.

hey rbalaa, i see you are new to your m3. get ready for a nice ride.

what i really want to suggest to you are some tutorial videos. Try to search youtube for some even korg m50 because its the same methods

also if you ever delve into the m3 editor, stephen kay has some awesome tutorials (pay subscription :( ) @ karma-lab.com forums

but for right now, i think you need to look into the basic sequencing
