Playing Electric Guitar through Microkorg - but no sound

Post by steveburgess-uk »

I am trying to play my electric guitar through the Microkorg and then out to the amp. The Microkorg is recognising the input as the "audio in" light is lighting up as green whenever I play a note. But there's still no sound!

I have the guitar plugged into the "audio in 2" input, and line/mic is set to "line". I have then selected Edit Select 1/OCS1 (audio setting) and Control 1 & 2 127/0 ( and every other variation) but still no sound.

Can I do this without any additional adaptors/preamps?

Many Thanks for any guidance!!

the only way i know how to do this is to run the guitar through the arpedgeator.

1. initialize the track (shift 3- 3 will blink, press 3 again)

2. select osc 1- with the first first knob go to Aud

now any key will act as a trigger, so if you guitar is making noise in order to hear it you have to hold a key

3. select arpeg. b and turn the latch on (first knob)
now if you play your guitar and hit any key once, you can keep playing your guitar and wont have to hold a key down

4. if you wish to not have an arpegeated sound select Arpeg. A and open the gate to 100 (third knob)

Thats the best I can do.

on the MKXL you have to hold shift and vocorder to enable the line in.

is that the case on regular MK?

Nope, it's different. It's also "vocoder" not "vocorder", FYI. :)
