connecting guitar to kaossilator pro

Post by portarab »

Just purchased a Kaossilator pro at the weekend and I am messing about with it trying to get familiar with my new toy. My question is, how easy is it to connect a guitar to the Kaossilator? Do I need to plug it in to the mic socket or is it best to put it through the line in connections on the back. I have a boss ME25 Effects pedal and a pocket pod, can I use either of those? Thanks.

plugging it right into the mic has worked well for me, it won't be able to record your guitar unless you are in the vocoder functions and holding down a note on the pad. holding shift, and holding a spot on the pad will keep the note in place for you, so using function 197 is the best choice since it has the least distortion.

It's best to go:

Guitar >> GuitarFX >> KoPo LineIn

That way you can get the full benefit of the guitar effects for anything you record, and it will have less noise than using the mic input (which would usually be required if you have a guitar without active electronics or FX).

you can definitely record the guitar without having to hold down the pad, you just have to arm the bank first...push record, then select the bank, and any incoming audio will record...you just can't hold down the bank and record without touching the pad

My mistake, when holding down one of the loop recorders and playing it doesn't pick up, but after giving it a try, the record function seems to pick up anything coming in on the mic input. I'm not sure why I never tried that before.
