Samples Midi sync with an sequencer

Kaoss Pad 3. Manual page 13, Midi sync function.
Linked midi with an mc-303.
Manual talks about the ability to be sync with an external sequencer, wich it must send a note on -I understand a note played routed with sync out to the kaoss pad-.
Oh!, I just read sync with internal rhythm patterns, that seems to be house and break unuseful patterns.
But, it's possible synch the pads with an sequencer?
Manually it can be not the best way to do.
