If I'd be a C-Level exec running a firm like this and find that 3300 of my prime customers hate me every single minute, day and night, I would loose my sleep  . What a shame!!!

I don't hate Korg at all. But I dislike their (non-)communication policy. Even MS has a "Major Nelson" to respond to XBox rumors. But we are not talking rumors here ... we only know: Oasys production has stopped and software development has continued, not for Oasys but for Kronos. As Oasys is supposed to be "open", it's legitimate to expect at least another official statement from Korg regarding Oasys future in the light of new developments.

Ok, so the correct number of people hating KORG could be something equal to or less than 3299 then  Not bad ;-)

Nope, there's much more people then that :-) What about all of the Yamaha newcomers, flamers and spammers all over motifator and various other forums? Yes, there's a bunch of people saying "screw yamaha and their 10 year-old motif", but there's a whole bunch saying "kronos? nothing to see here, now move along" or worse.

I prefer the first group to the other (screw yamaha people). Like 100 to 0. Their "opinion" just so happens to be much, much closer to the truth.

Well, some people seem to overlook that hating someone or something usually neither hurts the object of their anger nor improves the situation. It merely hurts themselves.

Well I have to say I am tempted.I never thought I would say it because in truth I didn't expect Korg to release a fully featured OASYS and then some, even though most of the hardware is no where near as good.Usually a manufacturer may release a watered down version with a few extra's.

I really love the "O".It's look just ooozes quality but I play live a hell of a lot and I miss the 88 note keybed. The 76 note "O" weighs more than the 88 Kronos plus the additions are enough to make me ponder. Thing is though like has been stated second hand OASYS will not be worth much at present . I may be fortunate in that I part exed a lot of gear to get mine back in 2005 and didn't fork out the full asking price in cash.

Don't get me wrong the OASYS is my number one piece of equipment and I never thought I would look to change it.I did think I would have it for a mighty long time but the Kronos for my own needs and purposes hits a few sweet spots for me.

Mmmmmm decisions, decisions. I suppose every ones circumstances are different.I just can't warrant selling the "O" for a silly price just because the Kronos is coming. There is no way an OASYS is worth less than competing manufacturers new boards which to me were still playing catch up.

Im gonna go and sratch my head a little more :?: :?

Just found out about Kronos a few days ago. Today was the first time I did any research on it. If I were a Oasys user, I would be pissed that Korg stopped developing Oasys and released an entirely new flagship workstation.

Just my $.02.

But you are not an OASYS user, right? :)

(Sorry, but it's an ancient dead horse.)

It's OK, Tony (I'm not completely happy either) just wanted to say I think it makes not much sense to talk more about it. Especially in this form: "if I were a user I would be pissed".

Why would I be pissed? It's an OASYS at half the price
Why would I? That's a no brainer mate, why pay half of Oasys price, having the full Oasys price already. Kronos is just another software update to Oasys in a cheap plastic box, which has been pointed out by many people previously and KORG was obliged (in terms of running ethical business) to provide that as either a free or charged update. You are now going to end up paying 3 times of the price of Kronos to buy one Kronos, plain and simple economics
  Plus, there are concerns about broken end user commitments etc.

I'm getting the KRONOS. It's not even a question for me. I want those new Synth Engines and that Drum Track feature!! That ALONE is worth the price tag!

Just an observation Akos, but you perpetuate these threads even more than I do

I'm always happy to take the opportunity to repeat myself :verycool:
