Inserting samples in a song

Post by Nelly the Electron »

I use vocal samples from sample libraries so I have loaded the samples onto the M3 from my memory stick and created keys for them in the recording page.
What I can't work out is how to trigger them from within a sequencer track so they can become part of a song, I managed to incorporate samples in songs when I had the Triton Extreme but I can't remember how I did it.
Any advice would be most welcome.

Wouldn't it be as simple as recording those assigned keystrokes into a track?

Thanks EnjoyRC, but I'm still rather confused. The last two synths on which I used library samples a great deal were the Fantom G and the Motif XS. On the Fantom G samples were placed in sample sets which acted like patches and could be used as such in a track and on the Motif XS when you imported samples the XS created an audio track in which the samples resided. I can't find anything on the M3 which allows me to trigger the samples within a sequencer track, though I do appreciate that in-track sampling will do that in realtime. If you do use in-track sampling can you access the midi data and edit it in any way?
Sorry to be a nuisance but any more help would be much appreciated.

In track sampling basically does the same thing. The general idea is as follows:

put your samples into a multisample (or drum kit I guess), and create a program that uses that multisample or drum kit
Now select that program for a track in your sequence, and insert (or play) the keys for whichever samples you want to trigger.
