KRONOS, like OASYS, is nothing but a music computer. Instead of the "normal" keys you get dedicated controllers to help expressing your musical ideas. There is a processor as core, a dedicated OS, a Screen, USB .... disk streaming is a nice feature but for sure not "innovative". The other big players are just more in their winter sleep.

Very "innovative" is also the structure of storing Programs and Combinations....

Bullshit. Kronos is the first ever workstation to include direct-from-disk sample streaming from onboard SSD. That's a GIANT innovation in the field of synthesizer workstations, right there.
Thats entirely true... almost forgot about that.

Did I ever write that this is exlusive to you?

Guess why I am having always a good laugh reading your postings?

It is just interesting to see how effectice marketing can be.

Concerning Programs/Combinations - I am not sure whether you read Pendulum's (aka Daz) posting in Jerry's thread, which was unfortunately removed......

Finally, to avoid any misunderstanding. I do not say that Kronos is a bad sounding workstation. Quite the contrary although I did not have the chance to play it. But I know the OASYS for 4 or 5 years and if Kronos is of same quality as OASYS then it will be a very good instrument for a reasonable price, but it is - at least in my humble opinion - not innovative.

At least he's speaking on the subject, which is KRONOS. What the hell does Toyota or MS have to do with Kronos? :-)

Let people speculate if they want to speculate. If you don't want to speculate about KORG or Kronos or anything that has anything to do with this forum, let others speculate without showing them a "highway to talk about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the subject" :-)

BTW, speculation is sometimes good. In some cases, very good.

That's exactly my point. Not everything is about chatting, especially on this forum. For sure, there are things that might be like that. But this is not IRC or online interactive chat. This is exactly what's sometimes wrong with the forum - we're here to help each other out with tips and tricks about various products, exchange ideas etc. In general - to exchange information. Not to chit-chat.

"pendulum" is Daz?

Boy, am I out of the loop...

About programs and combinations, what I know is the following:

if you spend 10 years creating a workstation with 1500 programs and 1500 combis, intertwined, where moving a program affects the related combis...

... and you don't spend 6 months providing a librarian...

... your are commercially challenged.

And you DESERVE being taken over by Toyota (hell: you deserve being taken over by Yugo Automotive!)

Speaking of which.
vEddY wrote:tips and tricks about various products, exchange ideas etc. In general - to exchange information.
ok.

Then, do you have information about who or what is buying Korg? Or whom or what Korg is buying?

Is Korg buying somebody or something? Is somebody or something buying Korg?

Do you know that it's not Toyota? or Microsoft?

Do you have better information? Share it.

Last time you went on a moralizing crusade like that, you were in the "kronos teaser" forum,

theorizing that kronos would have been a VST.

So, considering your forecasting track record in matters where you nonetheless still feel you can "help with tips and tricks"...

... this time I'd rather stick to my wild guess that Toyota is gonna buy Korg.

Or viceversa.

I can't be more wrong than you.

You just don't get what I'm saying. And you're taking everything I said there heavily out of context to go out on a personal attack - that was a speculating thread, where people can be wrong - I was, on a number of accounts, and I have an absolute _zero_ problems with that. And there's a huge difference between "will be" and "could be". Below any levels. So... Thanks for sharing the "level of discussion" that you're at. Again, I give up, no point in trying. Gave it my best shot.

Don't make me laugh.

You wanna laugh some more? They also bought Sibelius, and ever since there's been huge updates released with every version.
It could've gone exactly the opposite way too. May be they decide to make wireless microphone one day, instead of keyboards!

while this is a very factual thread, where opinions matter and some seriousness is warranted:

I rest my case.

You're right that the SSD is a new dimension -but frankly they could put that in any of their 'in production' HDD machines. So the Kronos maybe the vehicle for the SSD but the overall concept of Kronos is at the very least 6 years old and also uses the entire OASYS OS.

So, more broadly speaking, there is nothing innovative about the Kronos.
You're missing the point of what I said. The emphasis was not on SSD, but on direct-from-disk streaming. None of Korg's current "in production" HDD machines are not able to do that. Including your precious OASYS.

Sibelius is really bloated now and I don't like that at all. I'm using MuseScore and it suits all my needs quite perfectly. ProFools? Don't even go there. Bleh.

pls notice the usb interface. In this case the senseless threadmill effort of a small furry animal going nowhere at least produces some energy.
