That's odd. I noticed it the other day on the Oasys parts list: $15 OASYS Service Manual. Maybe they meant that the manual is no longer available.

You can call 800-590-0014 and see if they (Parts is Parts) can order one for you. Or you can pick one up on Ebay.

I will give that number a try when I get in from offshore. I inquired about the one listed on ebay as to the quality of the photo copied prints just a second ago.

Thanks Trinity2112

Many companies - including Korg - make service manuals available only to official service centers. I won't weigh in on whether or not I agree with the concept, but that's what's going on here.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Dan,
I was just interested in getting the book for future use in the event of a break down. I have been doing electronics for about 19 years now. component level down to the pcb and would have no problem doing my own repairs, if ever needed.

I'm curious, does it violate copyrights (or other rights) to:

1. Sell the original manual or a copy?
2. Give it for free?

Most likely this is stated in the manual.

Inretsting theoretical question. let's check it versus reality.

Let me see:

1) I own an instrument [m3]

2) it's out of production.

3) it's out of warranty

Korg has no obligation of giving me support or spare parts.

4) the Italian official Korg service is inefficient (as in "they don't even have a phone number. You send them e-mail, they don't answer for weeks/months")

5) I am afraid I'll have to find spare parts on e-bay if it breaks down

6) I paid for the instrument in full

7) I protect my investment by buying some spare parts on the parallel market and by finding a service manual though the grapevine

I occasionaly resell these parts and give away for free documentation.

8 ) I got a non-authorized Korg service to support me.

The owner gave me his cell-phone for emergencies and answers to routine calls within the day or the following morning. He charged me 50 euros for a spare case which Korg Italy sold me at 250.

9) I didn't ask danatkorg for permission on any of the above.

Am i violating some law? Really?

Come on, Korg, sue me
, let's check this against common law.

Oh: as soon as I buy another Korg instrument, I'll repeat the routine.

So, don't sell me anything if you don't like clients to look under the hood by themselves.

at page 2033 of 2030

By the way, in case you don't have the manual,

it's also stated in a disclaimer which pops up when you press seq-start+rightswitch+mutezoneA+mutezoneE while starting the synth.

For copyright reasons, only the legitimate owner's fingers can be used in the process.

OK, but I hope Dan can clarify it.

That's actually true! :D

And what about this:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=59471

Selling copies of manuals. Again and again. (Update: OK, it's about user manuals. They are downloadable - at least for users. So the seller is asking the price of printing etc.)

PS. I'm not a lawyer or a cop. I just want to know.
