Changing external patches from a Combination?

Afternoon all:

Sorry if this is a FAQ, but just want to clarify something I've been reading in the TEX Parameter Guide.

I've got an old MIDI module, a Roland JV1010, hooked up to my TEX, and would like to change patches on the external module when I change Combi for each song.

Is this something to do with using the EX2 mode and specifying LSB and MSB values for the external sound?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

it is, however (used to have a JV2080) i just set it to EXT and set the midi channel to the global midi channel of the JV (you ned to change it) and just scroll up the programs in the combi. (like if the JV is timbre 1, make the program a001 or a002) and see if it scrolls through patches on the JV
if not, go to global, change the bankmap to either GM or KORG. see wich one works best.
