Is there a way to assign audio in to Assignable slider?

Hi.. I hate to tell you why I want the audio in assigned to my audio slider. So I'm not using up any audio inputs in my mixer for the Tv channel which is on the other computer. I ran it into the audio in of the PA 500 and voila' ... it works and all my other gear occupy the stereo channels of the mixer.
However I wish I could mute it from the slider on the PA 500. I used to like the audio in of the PA80 because it had pre-amps. Since I began using a powered mixer and big speakers .. i don't run my mic through the keyboard to get it in the mix anymore.
So thanks if anybody has a clue on this. I might have to grab my mouse. That is odd that the audio in has no volume control at all if that's really the case.
thanks
paul

p.s. I try not to watch t.v. or sometimes I have a sports game on there and I don't need to hear it. but sometimes you want to bump it up and hear the explanations.

Sorry, can't be done with stock unit. Audio input on the PA-500 is mixed directly with the board output and only controlled with the master volume according the block diagram and schematics I saw.

There's plenty of room to add a couple pots to control the inputs if you know which end of a soldering iron to hold. ;-)

THanks for the reply

Thanks a lot.. It seems like there should be a volume control for inputs. I'm probably not going to solder a volume control in, but if you get a grip on the soldering iron early, you can figure out which one is the business end gradually. If you're a little late though.. its comes upon you suddenly.
thanks again
