Does anybody have experience with OASYS+Kurzweil Expressionmate Ribbon Controller?

Hmmm... not sure I get the point of having one when the keyboard has a ribbon already and assignable Knobs and Sliders.

There's nothing your going to benefit from with it that you can't do already on the OASYS. It will just be a different way of doing the exact same things.

Look on this video from 11:30. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv8DBw8Z ... re=related
I think it's different controller. Or you think difference is not principal?

I'd highly recommend it. I intend getting one (planned it a few months ago and forgot but now you've reminded me I'll move on it now).

It's the same ribbon controller as on the K2500. It feels beautiful to use (I own a K2500XS), and, it has three zones so you can affect three OASYS parameters with it. If used as one MIDI zone controller, you get fabulous resolution of what ever paramter you control - for example pitch. It far surpasses the OASYS ribbon controller.

As with the CS80 ribbon controller, with practice, you develop a whole range of control techniques using one or two hands / multiple fingers. It's almost like having another instrument. Imagine the control of filter and pitch you could apply to an already MIDI recorded track.

Another excellent application is applying micro-tonal bends to percussion instruments - it radically alters their performance on a sample-based instrument.

A truly unique example of ribbon controller is Vangelis on the lead melody of the piece 'Himalaya'on his album 'China'. I remember being intrigued by the pitch bend on that line and later learnt that so much of the character of the solo lines on that album are down to the CS80 ribbon controller.

The Kurzweil one is arguably superior and overall could radically alter how you play the otherwise exquisite OASYS.

Overall - highly recommended (now, off the ebay to buy one!!!).

Kevin, thanks for reply! I've had have it on K2600 and time to time missing it. But in Expressionmate manual stated that if keyboard has his own arpegiators controller can work wrong. That's why I asked about experience with O. I can give it try, but it is not cheap experiment.

I really don't get the point of this at all. OK, it's longer than the default ribbon and you have 3 zones. But it offers not one single function over what you can do on the OASYS already with the existing ribbons and knobs.

I'd rather see someone buy the Wavedrum mini and get something new than sink money on an alternative way to do the exact same things.

Just 2 two cents.

Sharp - it really is a lovely device. If you ever get the chance, try one (if you're ever passing through Dublin drop in and I'll show you the CS80 and K2500XS ribbons).

Of cousre so much of this depends on how hard you work at it. But with relative ease, I've found the K2500 ribbon controller excellent at affecting percussion sounds in particular (and the K2500XS has fabulously strong percussion on board).

As said - try it if you get het chance - at least keep an open mind on it - IMO it is defintely worth it.
