A tweaker's dream with all those knobs and such a clean layout.

He mentions he also made the analog MB33 (TB303 clone) from MAM (aka Music And More) back in the day. Not sure if you remember but MAM was around in the early 2000's, they made analog rackmount filters and stuff.

Amazing! Is this a competitor to Solaris?

Not really, they are quite different.... but I recommend to search the net for

greatsynthesizers.com

in one or two months - then you probably will know more about both of them.

But both are amazing, although the SCHMIDT due to its analog design is something special.

I've always been curious about peoples reactions to these kinds of synths as they always sound a bit boring in my opinion. I'm not suggesting that these synths aren't capable machines but these videos / demo never seem to show the kinds of sounds i'm interested in. Admittedly i've never owned or used an analogue synth, my first synth was a wavestation & various digital / VA's after that, including an Oasys but i've found these boards to offer me far more levels of experimentation than what seems on offer from old & new Analogue machines. Ironically i'm into the original techno sound & of course those tracks were all pretty much made with analogue synths. Having said that, techno, to me is all about experimentation & pushing forward with ideas & sounds & so i suppose i'm always looking for something different. Maybe i'm missing the point with the Schmidt & these other analogue boards, i suppose it's not about pushing forward but recreating a specific sound & feel. All said & done, i still buy one if i had the cash, if only for the way it looks. I like to collect these things if i could. Would look lovely next to my friends Genoqs Octopus.

I've never been to Iceland but I think that maybe it looks possible that it looks like that maybe I suppose it's like...

Of course, that's all with a big: IMHO.

Ozy thinks he's funny. He pipes in on threads and posts "hysterical observations" all the time. I think he should start a stand-up tour
