Hi,
I am trying to connect 2 guitars and possibly a double bass into a Saffire LE hooked up to my computer running Logic. the guitars are connected into inputs 1 and 2 and the bass possibly on 3. These are then routed to the outputs 3/4 of the Saffire LE.
I am then routing Saffire's outputs 3/4 into KP3 line inputs with a double Jack to RCA cable (one for right and one for left). I then route KP3's line output back to Saffire's inputs 3/4 or just 4, which are then routed to the main Saffire's outputs that lead to the active speakers.
My aim is to apply filters and/or other effects form KP3 to the 2 guitars. When I do so the signal level coming from the KP3 is very low.
I have also tried to connect the KP3's line-out directly to the active speakers but it didn't work.
Do I need an amplifier between KP3 and Saffire? Do I have problems with Audio connections?
Any help much appreciated!!!

Thanks for your reply.hazabikit wrote:Are the guitars electric? You will need a guitar DI (Direct Input) box to bring the guitar's signal up to the level expected by the KP3.
The guitars are 1 electroacoustic and one double bass with a 1/4" output jack. They are both pluged-in to Saffire LE's inputs, where you can choose between line-level and instrument-level. I put this on instrument level for the guitars or microphones and I am guessing that it will act as a DI, bringing the signal up to a Line level. This level then goes into Logic where I can apply FX etc.
This signal is then coming out of Saffire's main outputs and I suppose that is in Line level too. So the KP3 shouldn't have a problem working with Line Level.
Am I wrong to suppose that the pre-amps on Saffire will act as a DI?
