Hello, newbie here, and I got a question (seriously? )

I'm trying to figure out a setup for both midi and guitar usage and with a cheap audio interface.

My main gear:
1. Boss ME50B : Bass guitar processor, main guitar/bass line-in device
2. M-Audio Axiom 25 Pro : My new MIDI
3. Kaossilator Pro : Needless to explain, thinking to use it on MIDI keyboard's output and it should work as a bypass unit between MIDI and guitars.
4. Tascam US144 mkII: Audio Interface

I created a scheme for setup, and trying to check whether it looks correct or not.

My concerns are mainly about possible latency of MIDI keyboard if I use Kaossilator as a bypass device, if you take a look at the scheme, you can see that keyboard first enters Kaos, then moves to Audio Interface. I dont have enough cables to create this setup yet (gonna shop for them after figuring out the right setup).

Any suggestion is greatly greatly appreciated

I don't quite understand what you're trying to achieve. It almost looks like you're just plugging in as much as possible for the sake of it.

Your M-Audio keyboard has USB so should plug straight into the computer via USB and that should give you complete MIDI input (virtually over USB). Similarly the Kaossilator has that functionality but equally you could just connect its MIDI In to the output of the audio interface or (typically) the controller keyboard.

Normally you wont' have much need to record MIDI out from the KAOSSilator.

The audio side looks fairly sensible but in the long run you'll do better with a proper analog mixer (or perhaps a mixer equipped with USB or FireWire) running into your audio interface so you can connect more gear.

yep, I don't know and never heard about some Bypass Unit. Is this unit really usefull, or full of uses ?

To be honest, this is right I just don't like playing with cables over and over again so I want a setup to install just for once and don't want to be bothered again later.

Latency is the problem here, so I want to plug the key to audio interface via MIDI ports, I know I miswrote "kpro as a bypass unit". What I am trying to achieve is to learn what would happen if I plug Kpro between MIDI key and Audio interface while using it also for the guitars. If you think my setup is pointless, I will change it It was just a try - I confess I don't know much about this stuff.

Latency is usually with the audio side of things and MIDI won't introduce much latency. Also USB-MIDI ports on things actually tend to be faster than traditional MIDI ports because they have a much higher baud rate.

I can't imagine much latency being added to your guitar by running it through the KOPro. Additionally it gives you the ability to record and loop it

Yea, naturally I don't have any latency while using guitar over KOPro. I tried to connect my gear different than the scheme I did, and just have about 2.5 ms latency, it does not affect my playing at all, so it's okay for now but I will try my scheme once I buy all the cables.
