EXs3 Brass & Woodwind ebay scam?

Post by TonyGen »

I presume the 149 USD buy-it-now price here doesn't include the 149 USD for the authorisation code....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Unopened package described as containing an expansion board  So genuine mistake or a scam?

My EXs3 upgrade CD box is also unwrapped and will remain so until Korg give me the authorisation code f.o.c.

Seems to me the seller himself doesn't know much about what it is and how it works. A leftover item maybe?

Buy it NOW and upgrade Your Korg OASYS, make it a REAL MONSTER - it worth every penny !

Translation:

"I was given this free,it has no authorisation code so whilst you need to pay for this I'm happy to fleece you for $150 USD for a plastic Box containing a CD rom because you have more money than sense to buy a 5 Grand workstation".

You need to pay to authorise this???Received mine for free in the Post by Korg UK is also still wrapped and never been opened,so wasn't aware you needed to pay For an authorisation code for this too..,Never upgraded the RAM neither so never even bothered to try it,plus the sounds wouldn't be used at all anyway even if I loaded it!

Maybe I should sell mine, seems like a winner for sucker ebay buyers!

The disk came with the OASYS.

It's a demo similar to MOD-7 or LAC-1 (the sounds fade out regularly). To use them without this restriction you have to purchase the unlock code from korguser.net entering your OASYS' Public ID. It costs 149 USD.

As above

I Never got mine with the Oasys as I purchased it before this Exs was released,I'm aware of the other Engines needing a code as they were pre installed with the OS whereas this brass/Woodwind one originally wasn't.

I have registered with Korguser.net but have never purchased the Codes for the other engines,as I'm of the opinion that I shouldn't have to pay for these when I paid so much for the Oasys in the first place and I have no intention to either, the only thing I have downloaded from there was the OS upgrades and some of the sounds/FX presets available.

I had the Brass/woodwind Exs sent from Korg UK in the post, have never opened it as I don't have the ram capacity to use it,plus I have no desire for Brass sounds in my music, hence why I didn't realise it needed authorising,so as with the other engines, will never see light of day in my Oasys in full mode if it needs a fee to use it!Unless korg do the decent thing.

There is a difference: this wind soundset contains additional samples - hence the disk - while the other options don't.

Yes, some early customers got the disk later from the dealers. I think it's also downloadable from korguser.net.

Actually, I would gladly use all options - but I haven't bought them yet, like you.
