Hi,

Assuming the UK price for a '61 will be £2999 (anything less is a bonus!), I reckon I'll have to sell:

(please note, this is not a "I have for sale" thread, so please don't make me offers!! )

M3-61 c/w Radias & M256... £850 ?
Akai MPC1000...£300 ?
Yamaha DX7 mk 1... £150 ?
Blofeld Desktop ...£200?
....( what, only half way there :( !!)

Roland D-50... £120 ?
Virus TI Snow ( )...£500
Ensoniq ESQ1 ... £100 ?
Another DX7...£150 ?
Korg Trinity Plus...£250?
Casio CZ101...£100 ?

...(scraping the barrel now!)
Yamaha PS6100...£30?
Casio VL Tone.. £20 ?
Liver (we got two of them things, right?... no? )... £30

Still short! Maybe a bit of Saturday morning buskin' with the VL Tone before it's Ebayed !!

M3-61 c/w Radias & M256... £850 ? definitely

Akai MPC1000...£300 ? dunno. kronos is short on pads and control surfaces

Yamaha DX7 mk 1... £150 ? one of them, immediately

Blofeld Desktop ...£200? yes

Roland D-50... £120 ? no

Virus TI Snow £500 yes, imo, on a "redundancy vs bang-for-the-buck" basis

Ensoniq ESQ1 ... £100 ? no

Another DX7...£150 ? keep that until you have dumped your patches in the kronos, then sell

Korg Trinity Plus...£250? yes

Casio CZ101...£100 ? no

...(scraping the barrel now!)

Yamaha PS6100...£30? definitely

Casio VL Tone.. £20 ? you are kidding

liver only if kronos had better brass and winds

the "no" mean: the kronos doesn't directly replace that kind of sound. If you really like it, keep it. Otherwise, I don't like either synth, so sell them

I've gotten to a time in my career where I value those classic boards. You'll never get um again. Keep these!!!

I agree, except that kronos is gonna replicate the dx7 up to the point of reading its patches.

those 300 bucks could help you keep the d50 and the ensoniq... and one of your two livers.

Bonners are currently suggesting a price of £2599 for the K61 - hopefully DV247 will be somewhere under this.

Of course if this is wrong and it is £3,000 (nearly $5K) then one of the kids will have to go... Can I get part exchange on a six year old!

Maybe I could get a free Kronos if they extend the what would you do for a Kronos to Europe.

If it is £3K then I'll keep the kids and not by the Kronos.

I'll import from USA. I'll sell nothing.

I'll sell nothing.

I don't have so much gear, but all my synths have been carefully chosen to cover different synthesis methods and each of them has a sound character of its own. I would regret not having any of them anymore.

Like EXer, I can't bear to sell any of my gear. Though, unlike EXer, I uhm... have way too much gear for my own good. :P

Still, I have a spare E-mu e6400 with about 20GB worth of samples and a JAZ drive... a Yamaha V50... a fully loaded Kurzweil 2000R with a SCSI hard drive and another JAZ drive... a Wavestation A/D... Arturia Moog Modular V... hrm... maybe an MKS-50... Fantom X, maybe? No, I need my Roland sounds... I need my M3 for the fantastic synth action...

Bummer, and I do think I'm going to be about a grand shy, thanks to the PC3 purchase. What to do, what to do... :?

SELL NOTHING. I sold a few synths in the past to finance this or that and always regretted it later.

The only thing I can see selling for sure is my M50.

Depending on how well the Kronos fills other needs:

-I might sell my FS1R (FM), and Roland JD-990 (Analog Synths).

-Have a Kawai K5000, don't see korg replacing that.

-I have a Korg 01/wr that I can't bring myself to part with. I can't express how much I would LOVE to see the 01/w added to the Legacy collection in Kronos!

-I have an Alesis QSR too, but it's nearly worthless. No point in selling!

-Ensoniq ESQ1. Sentimental Value, and also pretty worthless anyhow.

Keeping my Motif, current live show is based around that, and I'd bet it's the Kronos other half in many ways.

I most certainly would never consider selling anything in advance of a new keyboard.. it will take months before I would have the confidence in the workflow, sonic character and operational effectiveness (aka fit for my use and no bugs) for me to get to the point where i realise some other board is a doorstop..

and even then doorstop or not, every board i have has its own certain appeal..so none are likely to go..lol
