Karo Assault Library

Post by BARRY CRAIG »

I am interested in hearing more about this library. I mainly make ambient/space/drift music (with occasional beats). My only complaint regarding the OASYS (other than the learning curve) is that it deals mainly in "work horse" sounds. It also has some fantasic sounds I would consider using in my own style.

What I would like to know is if I'm looking for softer, quieter, ambient spaces, does Assault also have those samples? Would having the add-on program also pull up more of those? Is there a page to hear sounds from the Assault library?

Thanks,
Barry

Hi - first of all I think it's Irish Acts that does the Asault library not Karo...

I have some Karo libraries as well as the Assault one you mention.

To talk about libraries is highly subjective but I'll do my best to give you insight.

Here's a link to a page of sound samples... http://www.irishacts.com/ezypal/index.p ... ys_assault

There is a good range of variety in the sounds. The strongest ones (just my opinion) are the vocal and piano sounds. So much so that in fact I would have paid the whole amount for just one of the sounds (girl vocal).

I guess you have to listen for yourself and assess whether they're good for you or not. I would not be without the library now. The quality is excellent although the 'piano and new strings' sound uses a lot of O resources!

If you're talking about a Karo library - the similar applies. Great quality but each library is very much focussed on its subject, ie Symphonic strings is exactly that!

Am in now way attached to Irish Acts but I think you'd be pleased with your purchase.

Thanks so much for the link! I really appreciate it, and it does give me a better idea of what to expect.
