PA 500 588 user sounds

So on the PA 500 and 588 the user sounds are pretty much just tweaked presets right? Is there no way you can load a stab synth or any other patch/sample into the sound banks? If so what file types work? I'm just glad there aren't 155 different versions of steel drums. I forget which keyboard has something like that. I mean come on.. steel drums are hammered 55 gallon drums when you can't afford to buy one.

No, you can't load external samples into those keyboards.

NO, this is not possible, an onboard sampler is not provided in both PA500 and PA588.
The only way to use other patches/samples is to connect a soundmodule, (soft) synth or other keyboard via midi.
I've done this with a Ketron SD2 and it works great to me.
