Good call, absolutely. I've only used .0001% of Karma, though, so I'm sure I'm in for a fun ride!

Yes, thanks. I'm still very attached to it...and have been doing some new sounds that KORG will be releasing in the near future. And I'll be gigging with it as part of my SV-1/Kronos 61 rig. So it's very much a part of my musical life. I'm proud of how it sounds and plays.

Just seeing this now... Thanks very much Tim, we're glad you're enjoying it. Your band rocks!
Jerry- SV-1 + Kronos 61 live rig... That sounds awfully familiar!

Thanks Korg for a phenomenal instrument! When OASYS came out I wanted one so very badly but simply could not afford it. Thank you for giving us Kronos. I feel like I have my OASYS now

Yes, thanks Korg and KARMA! This is an AWESOME board. I have had so much fun just auditioning the combis, turning on the drum track and switching on KARMA. I'm sure I will spend the next decade figuring out how to use it.
Definitely need to sit down some weekend with the manual. This board has seeming limitless functionality.

Jerry and/or Rich... please sell me on the SV-1. I have never been moved by that keyboard (in a music store setting). What am I missing? I am a Acoustic and Electric piano kind of guy. What makes it so special? Inquiring minds want to know !

I was asking them as musicians. Jerry is playing out with a kronos and with a SV-1 now. This has nothing to do with KORG. I just don't hear the magic with the SV-1.

I still lurk...
Well, the practical answer to that is that the SV-1 73 is the only small/lightweight weighted action keyboard I own. So it's my only choice for the lower part of my rig. I have a Kronos 61 pre-production unit so that's the top choice. It's a practical/reality-based decision. They're what I have, and I have no significant income to be buying more gear at this time.
But... I LOVE the setup, and it is the best that I have ever had for gigging.
So why the SV-1?
I find that the EP's and Wurli work really well in a band context. They really have character and I have tweaked the effects to my personal liking using the Editor.
Being a jazz guy I prefer the better acoustic pianos from the Kronos, but I will use the SV-1 pianos (especially SP#2) for rock tunes. And one of my favorite sound can only be had in the SV-1, Garth Hudson's classic Lowery organ which we got to sample here in upstate NY at Levon Helm's barn/studio. Nothing else like it!
While I don't personally have a lot of need for them, having a good CP-80, RMI and MKS-20 sound in my "library" is also worthwhile.
I think to truly love the SV-1 I have to mix my own Bank of sounds from the 3 soundpacks. And while I have suggested fixes for the knob resolution and amp gain issues, I simply don't use them to make changes while I'm playing, so I avoid the issue.

As you name it:
I was wondering why a well done CP-80 sound is missing in the huge Kronos HD-1 Library. It's one of the classics among keyboard sounds.

I don't have my KRONOS unpacked right now, but there is a CP-80 multisample - number 010 Electric Grand Piano. Not sure which Program uses it.
???
