problem: sometimes when I am playing around with the ribbon arp on my EMX it decides to change other parameters (not sure if it's only when using both the ribbon and the slider) very irritating when it decides to change things like cutoff and volume and suddenly in the middle of a nice improv arp ... silence! and it doesnt just change one parameter. when it does do this i can see it switching between different parameters in the LCD display.. not 100% certain which is changing the parameter (slider/ribbon) and which is modifying the parameters value. Can anyone explain this strange behavior? is there some secret, not-in-the-manual way of using the ribbon and slider to modify parameters? or is my EMX buggered? It really is quite irritating as it only does it now and then.. and because of this i'd be unlikely to use the arp (which i love) in a live setting in fear that its going to drop the sound because its changed a parameter it shouldnt have.
I've been looking around on the interwebs for anyone who has had this problem before and found nothing.

chances are the answer is neither the ribbon or slider...its the famous dirty pots issue...its just random jitter....if you stop playing the ribbon as soon as you see this issue, you will probably see the random values continue to spill out on the display.
i find that moving each pot on its full track before use helps with this but doesnt cure it.

no its definately something to do with the arp/ribbon when used together.
because i can see the parameters changing on the display... not only are the parameters changing but it jumps between different parameters depending on how the arp and ribbon are used. if it was just dirty pots i'd expect it to give jittery values whenever the EMX was shaken around. It doesnt do this at any time other than when i'm using the arp ribbon and slider.. and even then, not consistently so. I'll experiment further to try isolate at what point this happens.. and which parameters are getting changed.
I'll check tonight to see if it does it again.. and whether the values continue to jump when i stop using the arp.. but i've never noticed them continue to change after i stop using the arp.
