So folks can you list your preference in quickly getting inspiration -> all the way to product. Is it Kronos or your traditional DAW ?
Elaborate as to your justification. Pros / Cons.

It used to be "my keyboard". But that was mainly because the keyboard was "nearly instant on" and the PC isn't. With the boot times on the KRONOS and the Motif XF, I guess I'll have to see what happens to my working habits. My KRONOS just arrived, so it's too early to tell about that, but I can say that leaving the Motif XF turned on doesn't help. I walk away, come back a day or two later, and it's frozen and needs to be power cycled.franzlp wrote:So folks can you list your preference in quickly getting inspiration -> all the way to product. Overwhelmingly - Kronos.
I have been mainly a VST / MIDI controller player recently, but after the arrival of my Kronos, I think all this will change. I'll still use Ableton and my VST's, but certainly not for inspiration. This is exactly where the Kronos excels!
Working with the VST's seems much more like computer work (which I do like very much). But the Kronos is truly an instrument. It has a feel, a texture that's just not there with the VST's. The feel of the keys seems so connected to the sounds that they generate - truly special!

I will be surprised if you have that problem with the Kronos; mine has been on for weeks at a time and I've never found it "frozen". Although I can confirm that my Motif XS has done that.shap wrote:My KRONOS just arrived, so it's too early to tell about that, but I can say that leaving the Motif XF turned on doesn't help. KRONOS definitely for me ( Don't have it yet though). A workstation gives you that focus that you need for to capture that inspiration... With computers, even when you have the DAW loaded.... there are too many distractors....... email, update notices, facebook, twitter, korg forums... your DAW's options, mixer settings, latency, buffers.. etc.
But for studio, a dedicated computer, customized and tweak environment, VSTs ready to go, default projects for DAWs, may be good enough to capture you inspiration......
