sell the Extreme or the Karma

Hi.. I have accumulated too much hardware I think. I'm down to a Korg PA588 for my piano/band by myself. I like the arranger features. I had a Karma when it was new and an Extreme had something else I HAD to have.
As it is now.. I took the Karma out for a little gig, because I didn't want to haul the PA588 for such a little gig, but I was a bit lost trying to get a piano sound on the karma in a COMBI. Wow I don't use it enough. I made some cool recordings with it when I got it though. and I got the extreme card and there are some really cool drum things you can do with that.
Now the Extreme... i have a couple of good recordings with that too. I don't even know these keyboards that much. I use the arranger keyboards and I have a nice midi network that adds in some really cool patches/ drum patterns from the Karma and the Extreme.
If I could get the Karma COMBIS over the the Extrme I would dispose of the Karma. No offense to mr Kay, but I don't turn those knobs that much.
thanks for any discussion on this.
paul

[pride goes before a fall... God spare me that, but here's a KORG EXTREME recording and I have to look like I'm pumping my overrating...

I have some nice Karma songs.. the first combi.. voice of Karma or whatever it is.. really pretty cool can this be copied over to the Extreme.. as well as the drum patches that are recorded as a song, but you go from key to key playing a new drum patch?

If you don't use the KARMA features on the Karma, then I'd say sell it and keep the Extreme. The Extreme has a much wider selection of sounds and a lot more features. There's a reason why they called it the Triton Extreme. Its like a 'best of' the Triton series.

If you save the KARMA patches as .PCG on a floppy disk, then you should be able to put it on the computer and put it in a memory stick or something and copy over to the Extreme. But the combis would probably not be pointing at the right programs on the Extreme, I'm not sure.

Keep in mind that anything that generates rhythms, grooves, or other kinds of 'accompaniment'. Basically anything where the KARMA On/Off switch is lit up, uses the KARMA function and the Extreme won't be able to do that.

Why not sell your karma keyboard and get the karma triton software for your extreme? I think they were doing a 20% off or something last time I looked quite recently, might still be on.
