Help needed to upgrade my OASYS

Hi -
Though I have two OASYS (and was a beta tester) - I have completely forgotten the steps to upgrade and OASYS and install the new libraries; and my 2nd OASYS is at OS 1.01 and needing of serious upgrade work.

My mind has just drawn a blank on what to do and I want of course to do it correctly to avoid a mess in having to fix broken steps.

I'd be very grateful to any and all to remind me on the following:

1. What's the latest version of the OS?

2. Where can I get a copy of that (I don't have one because I was a beta tester and my 1st OASYS was upgraded through that path).

3. Can I upgrade directly from 1.01 to the latest version or must I uprade to 1.1 and then to the latest version

4. How do I find the OASYS Public ID

5. Do I need to separately install STR-1 and LAC-1 or are they part of the OS upgades?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Kevin.

Hi Kevin:

1. v1.3.3a

2. https://www.korguser.net/oasys/download/ - login and download

3. Need to get to v1.1 first - "contact your nearest Korg distributor" (according to v1.3.3a install notes)

4. Global mode, Plug-in info tab

5. Think they are already there - your unlock codes simply remove the operational restriction

Hope that helps

Yes, if you don't have 1.1 or later, then the downloadable "updaters" won't work - you need the 4-CD set containing the whole op sys. It actually doesn't need to be 1.1, it can be any later version, as long as it's the complete 4-CD set. But 1.1 is the most common version that Korg distributors are likely to have. Once you've installed from those CDs, you can go straight to the latest 1.3.3.

Yes, as Cello says, STR-1, LAC-1 and MOD-7 are all part of the op sys updates.

Public ID - the Global mode tab didn't appear until ver 1.1, so you won't find it there on ver 1.0. It's been a while, and I've had my own memory blank on how to get it from that version, but I'm sure someone else will chime in...

You'll be fine, Kevin!
