Song Templates
Hi: How exactly do the song templates in the SEQ work? I posted a note a month or so ago regarding losing programs/entire set-ups when I exited the sequencer to audition more sounds for other tracks. When I went back to the SEQ, all previous data had been wiped out.
The user that responded to my query suggested setting up a standard template or modifying an old one to avoid this problem. By going the template route, will info that you set up before still be retained? Is there a better/alternative way?
I worked with the M1, T3, O1/W and no matter where you went, whatever you had created on the SEQ was still there when you got back to it (in the same session). To be clear, I'm not talking about shutting down without saving first...
Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry.
The OASYS will not forget your settings in this situation. You must be doing something that is causing this, like... using the menu to copy additional programs with effects into the song, or working with COMBI sounds.

Impossible? I don't know. Maybe it's something I did. All I know is I put a title to a song in, and selected a program for Track 1. Then I went back to program mode, selected another program, and returned to SEQ. Everything was gone.
I'll give it another try. I assume the idea of making your own templates (if possible) or write over all ones would not help with this situation.
On the drop down P3 page of the SEQ, one of the last things is "Copy from Program" or "Copy from Combi". Is there a problem with that?
Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry.
When it comes to effects I manually operate the MFX and IFX section as all 16 tracks must share the same effects engine.
I suspect you were going back into the Sequencer and to the wrong Song number. Or you were using the short cut for pulling in progarms or combi's more than once.

Sharp.
Each of the 16 tracks displayed in the main page of the sequencer are a Program mode for each track. So I select my sounds directly from there. How do YOU set up a song and pull programs into the SEQ?

It's not a ghost. You may be right, Sharp. Yesterday, I was able to get things working where the SEQ retains data regardless of leaving that screen. Ghost in the machine?
Regards
Sharp.
If you're in Seq mode, then you are looking at one particular Song Number. You can't be working on a song and not have it in a Song Number already.
And yes, my answer above was meant to say: There are no known problems with Copy From Program or Copy From Combi.
And there are no known issues with songs not "sticking", as you put it.
