Trouble loading sounds off memory stick

Having some trouble...

I downloaded all the compatible sounds from Kevin Nolans site onto an Integral 2GB memory stick which has already worked fine with my K88.

However when I go to disk mode the sound folders show up as very small size (4kb) text files only and when I try to load them it says file not available. Any ideas please?

Thanks
Steve

My guess is that you have downloaded his DX7 patches since you mentioned they are 4KB in size. Those patches are not imported in the usual way to the kronos as you do with .PCG files. See page 335 in the Parameter Guide for instructions how to load these.

Thanks Jon but I also downloaded the others as well such as the AL1 and oasys progs etc but whilst they seem to be on the stick they say file unavailable when I plug it into the K.

Stick has worked fine before to add stesco and toward the sun stuff to the K.

It's all a bit odd...

I've also had the problem where it says the file is unavailable when I know for sure the thumbdrive is good and the .pcg file is good.

Maybe You got a virus in your PC? I had similar problem with my KORG M3.

I had several problems loading data/samples off a USB stick/drive when I first got my Kronos. I found that formatting the stick on the Kronos itself (Disk>Utility) cured my problems.

Mostly it is best to format the memory card/USB stick (whatever) on the target device itself (this is also for cameras etc).

thanks chaps - however I assume that if I format the stick in the Kronos it will wipe all my M3 content on it as well? I know I can back this up first but just checking if formatting wipes all data (I think it does)

thanks
Steve

Oh, yes. Definitely wipes all data!
