Kronos does not work!

After getting out of the box, everything worked fine, normally. No bumps, no tilts, it was standing there in the place of the house I had chosen, no moves. I could record a MID sound, then I recorded some Audio as well. Next day I switched on in the morning and my Kronos only shows the LOGO at the start up. I tried several times turning on/off and that was it. I use the cable from my Trinity (I bought this one in 1997 and it still works great!) and nothing happened. Then I connect to a different power outlet with an extension cable. Negative. The HD access occurs at the beginning and then lies dead. Only the LOGO displayed. Contacted Korg assistance and they recommended me to send it back and get a new one. I already contacted the company I bought and today I will send it back to them. Quite frustrating. They will provide my money back.

An enormously frustrating experience. I wonder if this is a manufacturing issue or a delivery damage issue? I recently took delivery of a bike and was alarmed that the carrier handled the package in a very rough manner. There was very minor damage to the packaging but the bike was OK.

Sounds like something might have come loose inside the Kronos you received.

Are you planning to try another Kronos? Hope so. My 61 version has been really great.

You do realize it takes like 2-3 minutes to boot up correct? Usually if there is a problem you will see an error on startup. I know there are at least some self-check processes.

There should be a little red bar below the logo that is the progress bar.

Not saying there isn't a problem, just making sure to check the obvious first.

And the Kronos doesn't complete the start with some USB-Sticks plugged in.

I actually see both! The first one I saw of course was sort of an erotic human anatomy photo but closer inspection revealed a more muscular physique. Sweet!

Take a closer look at the black & white portions above & below the color portion and you'll see something else!

As you guys pointed out...it does take 2-3 minutes for the Kronos to fully load up. The other day I fired up my Kronos and my Oasys simultaneously and it was a dead even heat as far as loading up. :)

I'm hoping that since the original poster went through troubleshooting with Korg support that they at least ruled out impatience before recommending he return the board.
