korg m3 sampling memory error at startup

hey guys just wanted to let you know i tried buying regular 256mb Sodimm 144pin pc100 memory for my korg m3 but it doesnt work..it gives an error when starting up. anyone has any suggestions as to what type of memory it uses? or must i purchase exactly what korg has for 199usd. a little help will be appreciated
