Switch between Setlist and Sequencer while sequencer running

Post by marianghioda »

Hi there guys,
I had the Kronos since June 15, but just now I got to finally transfer my songs on the sequencer from my Extreme.
There is one feature that would be great if it could be implemented, that is to be able to switch between the Setlist and Sequencer while the sequencer is running. The reason for that is, is much more easier to select a song in Setlist, and if you want you can just select a new song while you're playing one....but after you start the song, if you need to change the instrument that you're playing LIVE (besides the MIDI and Audio recorded), you need to be in sequencer mode. I run my MIDI guitar on channel 1, wich I set up on track 1, and the only way to change instruments (programs), is if I am in Sequencer mode, I have a MIDI pedal and I set up my programs in order. If I am in Setlist mode, my MIDI pedal will change whatever I have in my setlist (Programs, Combi's or Sequences), and that is a great feature, but it would be great if I could choose and start a song on the Setlist and then switch to Sequencer so I cand change instruments while I'm playing. Also, I would like to be able to switch from Sequencer to Setlist while a song is playing, so I cand choose a different one.
Anybody else thinks they would need this?

Ok, so I thought about it some more....I don't really need to be in the Sequencer mode at all.....
Does anybody know if there is a way to change programs (instruments) while in Setlist mode? It should be feasible, right now I can send MIDI notes, I can change volume....but if I change patches, it deafults to Setlist...and is no good, stops the song.
Is there a way to change that in Kronos, or the MIDI controller (Roland FC-300 in this case), so I can coose what I'm controlling, the Setlist or Sequencer?
Thanks!

While in Setlist mode, go to edit page. You will see track that has been selected. from here you can change the track you want to play with.

Advantage in Setlist mode is that you can change tracks while the sequence is running which you cant do while in Seq mode. wish this was possible in seq mode.

If you go over to the control surface, you can change measure of the song too.

OK, great! Thanks Charles! That's why I love this forum!
It works changing track from Setlist. That is for local control (what the keyboard plays).
I'm using Roland GR-55 so I need to change the track I'm playing from there (Edit-System-MIDI/USB-GTRMIDI-String Channel).

correction: you can change the track even while pressing(playing) keys in SetList mode.

Where as you can't change track when keys are pressed in sequence mode

Ok, so 1.5 update lets me switch from Setlist to Sequencer while Sequencer running, without stopping. Not the other way. I can live with that. (live gigs :) ).
Thanks to the guys at Korg for fixing this!
